The Igbo Community in Kogi Central has thrown her weight in support of the APC Kogi Central Senatorial Candidate, Alh. Yakubu Oseni (AYO) and all other candidates of the party in the forth coming election.
The endorsement was given yesterday during a courtesy visit by a Delegation of the Community led by her President General, Chief Joseph Anikwe JP (the Ozoigbondu Gburu-Gburu of Kogi State) to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Engr. (Dr.) Abubakar S. Ohere in his office in the state capital, Lokoja.
Chief Joseph in his opening remark said the President Muhammadu Buhari led APC administration has done justice to the change campaign slogan by doing tremendously well in the area of infrastructural development in the south east and other geopolitical zones in the country.
He further extolled the Executive Governor of the State, His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Bello for improving the economic base of the state through the various infrastructural development ongoing in the state which has impacted so much on buying and selling of goods and services being their core trade.
He reiterated the readiness of his entire community to throw her unflinching support for the administration of Governor Bello, by mobilizing to massively vote for the candidates of APC in the forth coming poll, and support the reelection of His Excellency to ensure continuity of the dividend of democracy they currently enjoy.
He commended his host, Engr. Ohere for the warm reception at such a short notice and urged him to continue his good work in Kogi Central and Kogi State at large.
Engr. Ohere in a reaction, appreciated his guests for the visit and acknowledgement of Governor Bello’s good governance stride.
Engr. Ohere said the Igbo Community has for ages been an integral component of Kogi Central and the state by extension as many Igbos were born and bred on the soil and has contributed immensely to the economic base of the zone through their business venture.
He described His Excellency as a completely detribalized leader who even appointed Igbos to serve in his cabinet to give sense of belonging to their community.
Engr. Ohere enumerated the numerous achievements of Governor Bello in Kogi Central which includes water project and other basic amenities, road construction, opening of new layout and creation of rural feeder roads which attracts new settlement and triggers their economic empowerment as business men.
He charged the delegation to serve as a communication medium to other good people of Igbo nation resident in Kogi Central on strengthening of the mutual ties between them and their host community; the good policies of the government and the need to continue to support the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello.
