About EbiraView
Started as an internet-based discussion
group, EbiraView engaged in discussion of Ebira affairs.
Newsletters, opinions and breaking news were exchanged among the
group. Even as most of the members were faceless, the commitment
was high until we suffered a technical setback that nearly
crippled the service. After some months, with advice from a
friend in Malaysia and support from Abdul Rahman Dele, my first
team member residing in Nagazi, Adavi Local government of Kogi
state, we found our first website, EbiraView.com on the 5th day
of November, 2005 with the primary objective of projecting Ebira
image to the world!
Within few months, Anebira from such countries as Russia,
Ukraine, Malaysia, USA, UK among other nations found a window to
their homeland. At the click of the mouse, they view news,
photos and reports of happenings around Ebiraland. Due to the
uniqueness of the service, the news spread like wild fire and in
less time than expected, EbiraView became a household name among
Ebiras in the Diaspora.
Challenges and growth
Through risks and glaring challenges, we have presented many
Ebira personality, arts and events at the world stage. Some of
these include the March 2006 Population Census, the Ebira
Governorship struggle during the 2007 general elections, Ebira
woven clothes, Ebira farming culture, Infrastrucrual
developments across Ebiraland, Ebira Festivals such as Ekuechi,
Echeane and others, the Police mayhem in Ogaminana, showcase of
profiles and achievements of such Ebiras, both living and dead
among others materials. |
