Eight days gone, relatives and friends of Late Yusuf Adabenega & Late Musa Zubair have not stopped mourning the loss of their sons and friends slain in Okene by unknown gunmen .

While assuring the families that security agencies were on top of the situation, Kogi State Governor – Alh Yahaya Bello, appealed to residents of the Obehira, the entire Ozi Ehebe clan and the good people of Ebiraland to embrace peace and patience. He asked for positive interfacing in the area of security to help extradite insecurity to the barest minimum.

The Governor having condemned the killings assured friends and families of Late Yusuf that the law enforcement agencies have been directed to thoroughly investigate the killings, and to prosecute those involved. He appealed to the residents of Ebiraland to reject division in the name of religion or ethnicity, and to uphold harmony in the land. He pleaded with all and sundry to disallow lies and rumour as this is one instrument of criminals to sabotage and distract the people from nailing the exact persons behind the act.

The Governor charged the people to stand strong and resistant to intimidation from weak vessels who have chosen the oppress and suppress good people by stuffing out life from them. He said, only in unity can criminals and criminality be brought to a halt.

According to Bello, all men and women, Children and adult from all walks of life will all be brought before God on judgement day on the basis of their deeds, adding that only those who live a worthy life will have people who will intercede on their behalf for God to give them peace. For those who take the lives of others will not only be judged accordingly in the hearafter, but will not escape earthly judgement from divinity.

In his remarks, he described Late Yusuf as a people’s man. He empowered a lot and lived in harmony with his neighbour. He was as a father and very good man.

The event held at the Family House of the Adabenega, in Obehira.

Governor Yahaya Bello was accompanied by State Party Chairman, Hon Abdullahi Bello, State Publicity Secretary, State Government Officials led by their Chairman, Hon (Engr) Abubakar Ohere. Others present were the Administrators of Ajaokuta, Okehi, Okene, Adavi, Kabba, Ogori.
Others are Hon Isah Haruna (HOR Member Lokoja/Kogi), Alh Yakubu Oseni, Hon Joseph Asuku Bello, Hon Damisa Tijani and other Flagbearers of the All Progressives Congress.

Late Yusuf Adabenega and his loyal aide Late Musa Zubair will be greatly missed.
May God grant them rest while God’s judgement is sure and prompt.
